vegEcheck℠ and FIRI℠ are two wildfire indices offered by AssetAssurance Monitoring (AAM LLC), a US remote-sensing monitoring firm with offices in McCordsville, Indiana and Henderson, Nevada. vegEcheck℠, which AAM calls its Pre-Fire Incident Reflectance Index, addresses the pre-fire risk environment by tracking vegetation biomass and cover over time; FIRI℠, the Fire Incident Reflectance Index, is delivered during a wildfire event.
Both are computed from Sentinel-2 multispectral imagery at 10 m resolution. AAM's published wildfire scenario uses Sentinel-2 acquisitions every five days before a fire (serial vegEcheck trend tracking), during the fire event, and afterwards for burned-area segmentation and ongoing vegEcheck monitoring. Imagery is processed with AAM's platform partner Satshot. AAM's examples include vegEcheck maps of Skinwalker Ranch, Utah (June and September 2024), a Bridge Fire scenario from its NOAA SBIR 2024 wildfire collaboration, and vegEcheck alongside Sentinel-1 InSAR for corridor monitoring on Wyoming's WYO 22.
The indices belong to AAM's family of service-marked reflectance indices, alongside TIRI℠ for tailings and impoundments and WatIRI℠ for water bodies. They are available for push notification, e-mail or portal display, sold as data and analytics services on annual or event subscriptions covering sites, areas and regions, with terms arranged by contacting AAM.
