T-Kartor Odin is an image-based measurement tool that runs as a plug-in inside QGIS, ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro. It lets analysts measure object heights, areas and footprints directly from high-resolution satellite imagery without leaving the GIS or downloading image files. T-Kartor's NGA case study describes the workflow it replaces: measuring man-made structures meant downloading imagery, loading NITF files into ArcGIS and measuring in separate tools.
Odin has built-in Maxar WMTS connectivity, which streams a global catalogue of high-resolution satellite imagery into the GIS session. A dockable image carousel updates as the user pans or zooms, and scenes can be filtered by acquisition date, cloud cover, sun elevation, satellite platform and off-nadir angle. Object height is derived either from shadow geometry or from visual lean, and footprints and areas are measured in the same streaming session. T-Kartor's Feature Production Solutions, which pair Odin with the Kraken conflation tool, list imagery catalogues from Maxar, BlackSky and Planet.
Odin is aimed at defence, emergency-response and infrastructure-planning analysts. T-Kartor reports using Odin daily since 2015 in its own production work, including for the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA): its current NGA contract to collect and manage worldwide airfield and vertical obstruction data uses the Odin Esri add-in, and T-Kartor reports delivering over 5,200 airfields and more than 8.1 million vertical obstructions to NGA under this programme.
