SWIFTFarm

SWIFTFarm is an online agricultural monitoring platform from Swift Geospatial, a South African GIS and remote-sensing company. It addresses the limited visibility, costly field visits and slow, paper-based reporting that let a small patch of crop stress become lost yield.

Customers register, upload their areas of interest (AOIs) and choose a monitoring frequency: daily on demand, weekly, biweekly or monthly. The system then collects Planet's 3 m, 8-band PlanetScope imagery or 10 m Sentinel-2 imagery over those areas, runs its analytics and updates a custom dashboard automatically. Its core capabilities are field health from the NDVI vegetation index, in-field stress detection that flags die-off before it spreads to whole fields, and harvesting detection that logs hectares harvested, harvest dates and possible illegal harvesting. Map, monitoring and report pages show imagery layers, fields of concern and printable field or farm reports, and the provider states the system is REST API compatible for integration into existing systems.

Optional add-ons include automated fire monitoring (NASA thermal infrared detections trigger an alert, followed by seven days of Planet imagery and post-fire burn scar analysis), above-ground biomass, biodiversity assessments, field digitisation, in-field surveys and high-resolution base mapping. The provider states it monitors over 200,000 hectares of agricultural land worldwide for farm owners, field workers, farming organisations and NGOs. It also says SWIFTFarm can estimate potential yields by combining spatial analysis with historical data, weather patterns and current crop conditions, with ground data needed to calibrate the estimates. Pricing is by quotation: a fixed platform rate per hectare plus setup, storage and hosting fees, with optional support hours.
