SuperVision EUDR is SuperVision Earth's deforestation-monitoring service for companies that must comply with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Under the regulation, operators and traders placing soy, beef, palm oil, wood, cocoa, coffee or rubber on the EU market, or exporting them, must show that the goods do not come from recently deforested land and have not contributed to forest degradation.
How it works. The customer supplies the locations of its suppliers' land plots by placing an order on SuperVision's SVX web platform, after which SuperVision's experts contact the customer to finalise the order. SuperVision analyses satellite imagery of each plot and calculates a Deforestation Index (DFI) by comparing imagery from before and after the EUDR cut-off date. Its published sample report, for a 353-hectare farm in Piauí, Brazil, uses Sentinel-2 imagery from 2017 and 2022. The report maps the areas of change, rates each area as high or medium deforestation risk using a DFI threshold, flags whether it is EUDR compliant, and adds histograms that sort the area into severe loss, low loss, no loss and greening. The provider describes the analysis as automated using AI-enabled satellite intelligence, and lists an AI analytics module and a GPT assistant among the product's features.
Delivery. Customers receive an EUDR report with a risk assessment and compliance data for each supplier, followed by regular updates when later changes on a plot require action. Monitoring reports recur quarterly or yearly and are delivered in the customer's preferred format.
Limitations stated by the provider. Results are bound by Sentinel-2's 10 m resolution, and clouds or changes in water bodies can affect the index.
