SqueeSAR® InSAR Monitoring & Historical Analysis is TRE ALTAMIRA's satellite radar interferometry (InSAR) service for measuring ground and structural displacement over single assets, whole sites and entire regions. Subsidence, landslides, tunnelling, mining and reservoir operations can move the ground and damage infrastructure, and conventional surveys cover only discrete points. TRE ALTAMIRA processes stacks of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images with its patented SqueeSAR® algorithm to produce displacement maps and time series for thousands to millions of measurement points, with rate precision of around 1 mm/year.
Monitoring programmes task operational SAR satellites over the client's area of interest, including TerraSAR-X and PAZ under a framework agreement with Airbus, and use free Sentinel-1 data for regional to national coverage, with deliveries from quarterly up to weekly. Historical analyses reprocess SAR archives back to 1992 for site selection, subsidence claims and risk-model calibration. No ground equipment is needed; proprietary corner reflectors can be installed where snow or vegetation limit natural targets.
Results are delivered through the TREmaps® web platform, with time-series, cross-section and filtering tools, exports to SHP, CSV, KML and GeoDatabase, and APIs for third-party integration, alongside an ArcGIS toolbar and interpretation support. Named users include the California Department of Water Resources (statewide subsidence data), Glencore (more than 110 tailings dams), RATP and the Société du Grand Paris. The Italian headquarters are certified to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 for PS-technique SAR data processing.
