SpatialKey is a cloud-based geospatial analytics platform built for property and casualty insurers, owned by Insurity since December 2019. Insurers often rely on disconnected systems and specialist skills to measure risk and understand exposure; SpatialKey puts hazard data, portfolio data and financial calculations into one map-driven environment for underwriting, portfolio management and event response.
Customers import their own exposure data (CSV, Excel, shapefiles, or RMS EDM and AIR CEDE databases) and analyse it against hazard, property and event data from more than 70 providers, enabled according to the customer's licence. Separate applications cover Underwriting, Accumulations, Event Response and open-ended analysis (Analyst), with automated event alerts, location- and policy-level financial calculations, and Lookup, Import and Geocoding APIs that return hazard scores and accumulation results to the insurer's own underwriting systems.
Satellite data enters through the Event Response application. ICEYE flood depth and extent, and ICEYE wildfire perimeters with building damage assessments, both derived from ICEYE's synthetic aperture radar satellites, can be run against a portfolio; since September 2026 Insurity offers ICEYE's full natural catastrophe portfolio to SpatialKey customers in the United States and the London insurance market under a single commercial relationship. The United States active wildfire layer combines InciWeb fire locations, National Interagency Fire Center perimeters and NASA VIIRS satellite hotspots. High-resolution pre- and post-event aerial imagery from Vexcel is also available.
Insurity states that SpatialKey is trusted by more than 200 insurers, brokers and MGAs; customers it quotes include Markel, RLI, Acuity, AEGIS London and Juniper Re. Its product overview cites 50% faster risk assessment, 25% faster quoting and 5% lower claims cost.
