SkyWatch EXPLORE is a self-service web application for finding and buying Earth observation imagery without negotiating with each data provider. Users enter an address or coordinates, or draw or upload an area of interest (GeoJSON or KML), then browse archive satellite and aerial scenes, checking cloud cover and coverage on low-resolution previews before they buy. When no suitable archive image exists, they can task a new optical or SAR capture of the area, or a drone capture through Spexi.
The imagery orderable in EXPLORE includes free Sentinel-2 and Landsat open data; commercial optical imagery from Airbus (SPOT, Pléiades, Pléiades Neo), Vantor (WorldView-2, WorldView-3, WorldView Legion, GeoEye-1), Planet (SkySat) and 21AT (Beijing-3, TripleSat); SAR from Capella Space and Umbra; and aerial imagery from EagleView, Nearmap and Vexcel. Elevation models (DSM/DTM), including Airbus WorldDEM NEO derived from TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X radar pairs, and Vantor Vivid basemap mosaics can also be ordered. SkyWatch publishes one normalised per-km² price list, and buyers pay by credit card with no contract, subscription or platform fee.
Optical orders are delivered as a SkyWatch Standard Product: an orthorectified Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF in WGS84, a rendered PNG and a JSON metadata file; SAR orders arrive as zip files whose formats vary by provider. EXPLORE keeps orders available for 90 days; mosaicking, monthly invoicing and organisation-wide data management are sold separately through SkyWatch HUB. EXPLORE was formerly called EarthCache, and a SkyWatch case study describes Switzerland-based BAP Intel, founded by a former hobbyist analyst, using it to source high-resolution archive imagery for object detection.

SkyWatch is a Canadian geospatial data platform company that gives access to satellite, aerial and drone imagery from more than 700 sensors through one account, with transparent pay-as-you-use pricing. Its products cover finding and buying imagery (EXPLORE), managing procurement, storage and sharing across an organisation (HUB), ordering imagery inside ArcGIS (MAP), a developer API for building imagery ordering into applications (BUILD), and a distribution service for data providers (CONNECT). The company was founded by a team that met at the NASA Space Apps Challenge in 2014 and launched its first geospatial data API in 2016.
