Skylark Precise Positioning Service

Standard GNSS receivers are typically accurate to several metres, which is not enough for lane-level vehicle navigation, autonomous robots, wire-free geofences or utility locating. Skylark Precise Positioning Service from Swift Navigation is a cloud-based GNSS correction service that improves positioning from several metres to a few centimetres without the user installing a base station. It models ionospheric and tropospheric errors from a network of continuously operating reference stations built and operated with mobile network operators, and streams corrections for GPS, Galileo and BeiDou signals to the user's receiver over the internet via NTRIP, in RTCM formats.

Skylark comes in three variants. Nx RTK is a virtual-reference-station network RTK service with 1-2 cm accuracy and an instant fix. Cx delivers PPP-RTK corrections in OSR and SSR formats, with 3-7 cm accuracy, convergence in under 20 seconds and optional integrity. Dx sends low-bandwidth DGNSS corrections for sub-metre accuracy on small battery-powered devices. Coverage includes the contiguous United States, Europe, South Korea and Japan.

The service runs on AWS, with a stated 99.9% availability, and Skylark Cx carries a commercial SLA. UL Solutions certified Skylark to ISO 26262 at the ASIL B(D) level for road-vehicle functional safety. Skylark is hardware agnostic, with published setup guides for receivers from u-blox, Septentrio, Unicore, STMicroelectronics, Sony, Telit and Quectel. Named users include Halo Collar, Nexxiot, Kingdom Technologies and Grab, which piloted it with drivers in Singapore. Swift states that Skylark is used in more than 10 million vehicles and devices and is integrated by more than 20 automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers; it won the 2026 AutoTech Award for ADAS & Safety Technology.
