Visiona Tecnologia Espacial, a joint venture of Embraer and Telebras, supplies satellite imagery and image-analysis services for remote sensing projects run by government (federal, state and municipal) and private clients. As official distributor for several satellite operators, including Airbus, Capella Space, Maxar/Vantor, MDA, RESTEC and SIIS, Visiona draws on a virtual constellation of more than 75 Earth observation sensors, plus digital elevation models of varying accuracy, and picks the sensor best suited to each project. The portfolio covers optical imagery at up to 30 cm resolution, such as Pléiades Neo and WorldView, and radar imagery at up to 25 cm in X, C and L band, such as TerraSAR-X, RADARSAT-2 and ALOS-2/PALSAR-2, which can image through cloud.
Its remote sensing specialists, who hold master's and doctoral degrees from Brazil's National Institute for Space Research (INPE), provide digital image processing that corrects raw imagery and extracts information about targets of interest. They also offer consulting for agronomic, forestry, environmental, cartographic and geological applications, and post-sales technical support. Visiona launched the service in 2015 for large remote sensing projects in Brazil and neighbouring countries. During the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games it supplied the Brazilian Air Force with satellite monitoring of Brazil's territory and borders using optical and radar satellites. Segments served include agribusiness, forestry, energy, environment, oil and gas, mining, telecommunications, government, and defence and security.
