ParameterPro is CelsiusPro's toolkit for risk assessment and for structuring parametric insurance covers. It is built for brokers and is also aimed at risk managers. To present a parametric cover to a client, a broker needs hazard data, a view of the risk, a structure and an estimate of the expected loss. ParameterPro puts the data and the structuring tools in one platform so that, in the provider's words, a cover can be built in minutes.
The platform integrates climate and natural-catastrophe datasets, listed by the provider as NHC, JTWC, USGS, ERA5 and GPM (IMERG), NASA's multi-satellite precipitation product. The perils covered are tropical cyclone, earthquake, heat, freeze, flood and drought; wildfire and tornado are listed as in the pipeline. Users set up industry-standard structures such as Cat-in-a-Circle, Cat-in-a-Box, Heat Day (Tmax), Frost Day (Tmin), Rain Season and Dry Season, see observed event intensity and historical payouts, calculate the expected loss and export the results. Global climate data can also be downloaded for grid cells or administrative regions to design a cover.
CelsiusPro, a Swiss parametric risk transfer specialist, launched ParameterPro 2.0 in November 2024 as a platform for brokers, initially focused on hurricane and earthquake triggers, with modelling that blends stochastic event sets with historical data.
