Oryzativa is a satellite crop-monitoring platform built specifically for rice. It was started in Uruguay by a group of technicians from the rice sector to help growers and their advisers find problem areas early and make day-to-day management decisions with less uncertainty.
Users enter their field boundaries once in the web application. The platform then delivers frequent high-resolution PlanetScope imagery (3 x 3 m pixels, near-daily) for fields on its HD plan, and lower-resolution Sentinel-2 and Landsat imagery otherwise. From this imagery it computes NDVI, NDWI and chlorophyll indices to track crop growth, flooding and irrigation, crop water status and nitrogen-related greenness. The web app adds anomaly maps, scouting points, area measurement, management clusters, and observed and forecast weather. The iOS and Android app works offline. It keeps a field notebook of sowing, spraying, fertilisation, phenology, irrigation and scouting photos, and sends alerts that can be shared with technicians and contractors. Readings from AgroDigital IoT weather stations can also be shown.
In 2025 Oryzativa added NDVI reference curves for 13 rice cultivars, fitted to more than 3,000 Uruguayan rice fields from the 2020 to 2023 seasons. It also added an N-Arroz nitrogen tool and a view of potential yield. According to a Planet case study published on Oryzativa's site, the platform monitored more than 30,000 ha of rice in Uruguay and Argentina in its first year using Planet imagery. Oryzativa says the platform was validated by INIA Converge, Uruguay's national programme for digital farming technology. The provider also offers joint interpretation sessions with its agronomy team.

Oryzativa
Oryzativa is a satellite monitoring platform designed entirely for rice, combining agronomic knowledge, technology and remote sensing with the experience of the rice sector. Its web and mobile apps track fields with daily high-resolution Planet imagery (3 m pixels), vegetation and irrigation index maps, climate data and a field record book, and the mobile app works offline. The platform also offers IoT devices and joint interpretation of the data with its agronomy team.
