OREC-Intelligence

OREC-Intelligence is SATIM's ISR monitoring system for defence and intelligence users who receive more synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery than their analysts can review. Built on SATIM's OREC engine, it automatically analyses incoming SAR acquisitions over user-defined areas of interest and observation schedules, running continuously with no operator in the loop. OREC detects and classifies vessels, aircraft and ground vehicles in each scene; OREC-Intelligence aligns those detections into time series, builds a picture of normal activity for each area and surfaces departures from it, such as units appearing or leaving, or activity in previously quiet locations.

Results reach the operator as near-real-time alerts on detected objects and events, together with geolocated detection layers and situational reports for the area. In an example SATIM publishes, the system monitoring Dingxin Air Base on Synspective SAR imagery detected an increased number of H-6 bombers against the historical baseline, quantified the anomaly and produced an alert for operational review.

SATIM states that OREC-Intelligence supports maritime domain awareness, critical infrastructure protection and monitoring of military activity, including in areas optical observation cannot serve. The underlying OREC engine is sensor-agnostic (SATIM names Umbra, ICEYE, Capella and Synspective) and is stated to classify 300+ object classes with accuracy of up to 95%. SATIM's product suite can be deployed in cloud or secret-cloud environments, on premises, at the tactical edge or fully air-gapped.
