Zora Ecosystems (Zulu Ecosystems until February 2026) is a project developer for nature-based solutions. It works with landowners, corporates and investors, and water companies that struggle to turn a restoration opportunity into an investable, delivery-ready project.
The service runs in four stages. In land evaluation, the company's platform combines high-resolution satellite imagery, remote sensing and land analytics to baseline an area of interest and assess its suitability for woodland creation, peatland restoration and natural regeneration. In design and structuring, an optimisation engine selects interventions from site conditions, risk models, species selection, carbon yield and costs, and financial scenarios cover cash flows, funding requirements and credit delivery. Zora then manages implementation (contractor selection, project registration and validation) and provides measurement, reporting and verification based on on-the-ground monitoring, with results shared through a client portal. In the UK, its woodland projects are verified under the Woodland Carbon Code and its peatland projects follow the IUCN Peatland Carbon Code.
The platform is named Mosaic. For water companies it models flood risk, water quality and water resources, and can process any catchment in Great Britain at a default granularity of 10 m. Published work includes narrowing a 132,000-hectare catchment to 1,400 hectares of priority area for Yorkshire Water, an Innovate UK-funded pilot with Severn Trent Water that combined over 400 datasets, and an evaluation of 19,000 hectares for Aberdeen City Council. Zora reports 25 million hectares of land evaluated and 40 live projects in the UK, and it shares ownership of the projects it originates.
