The Natural Resources Satellite Remote Sensing Cloud Service Platform (SASClouds) is the online data and information service of the Land Satellite Remote Sensing Application Center (LASAC) of China's Ministry of Natural Resources, built and operated with Beijing Guoce Xinghui Information Technology. It gives government departments, industry units and the public one-stop access to satellite imagery, aiming to lower users' production, R&D and management costs and their dependence on software and hardware. Its core holdings come from Chinese land-observation satellites, including ZiYuan-3, ZiYuan-1 02C, the GaoFen-1 to GaoFen-7 series, the GaoFen multi-mode satellite, Jilin-1, Beijing-2, SuperView-1, Zhuhai-1 and TianHui-1; the image search also covers foreign missions such as WorldView, GeoEye-1, Pléiades, SPOT-6/7, KOMPSAT and TerraSAR-X, and coverage statistics include Landsat-8/9.
Registered users search a global, multi-source catalogue of more than six million imagery metadata records covering any region since 2012, by attributes, administrative area, drawn polygon or uploaded shapefile. They can view quick-looks, export metadata and footprints, and submit data applications or orders. The platform also reports imagery coverage and push statistics, predicts satellite overpasses for a chosen area and period, and analyses global land-observation satellite development with parameter comparisons.
Government users also receive quarterly land-cover change monitoring at national, provincial, municipal and county level, with change-spot download and automatic delivery of results. Thematic layers cover surface deformation, road networks, solar and wind installations, steel plants and non-grain use of farmland. Functions are tiered by user type (public, industry, government), and a companion mobile app is offered.
