Marigold

Marigold is EarthDaily's browser-based GIS application for exploration geologists, built on the EarthOne platform. It removes the specialist work of sourcing, cleaning and processing satellite imagery before targets can be drawn: no coding is needed, and EarthDaily says it cuts exploration preparation time by up to 85%.

Its core data are EarthDaily's global Bare Earth Composites, built by picking the best-exposed pixel from the entire Sentinel-2 and ASTER archives and offered as Sentinel-2, ASTER and Fused (Sentinel-2 VNIR plus ASTER SWIR) products. Users can also load EnMAP, PRISMA and EMIT hyperspectral imagery, Copernicus and SRTM elevation models, public gravity, magnetic and radiometric data, and their own rasters, vectors and field spectra.

• Mineral mapping: curated indices for Fe-oxide, Al-OH, Mg-OH and carbonate alteration, band ratios, ternary ratios and RGB composites.
• Spectral analysis: PCA, MNF and UMAP transforms, spectral angle mapping, clustering and supervised classification.
• Hyperspectral compositional mapping: abundance and composition maps for white mica, kaolinite, chlorite, alunite and carbonate.
• Structure and terrain: Canny edge detection for lineaments, hillshade and valley-bottom flatness.
• Export: up to 300,000 km² per export as GeoTIFF or WMTS, for ArcGIS, QGIS, Leapfrog and Micromine.

Marigold runs on AWS and is sold as a global or continental subscription. EarthDaily states that seven of the world's largest mining companies use it. In its published case study, East Star Resources analysed over 75,000 km² of Kazakhstan's Balkhash-Ili volcanic arc and cut target identification from months to hours. It was first developed by Descartes Labs, now part of EarthDaily.
