MAPTYCS is a web-based geospatial platform from New York-based MAPTYCS Inc. for analysing property and climate risk exposure. It addresses a common problem for risk managers, underwriters, brokers and reinsurers: exposure data scattered across spreadsheets and separate tools, which makes accumulations and the locations a developing catastrophe will reach slow to see.
Clients upload portfolios as Excel or CSV files or connect them through APIs. The platform geocodes and enriches each record and overlays more than 40 hazard, weather, property and climate sources, among them FEMA flood maps and the National Risk Index, NOAA, USGS, Munich Re NATHAN, Precisely COPE and wildfire data, Xweather and IPCC CMIP6 scenarios. Its space input is NASA FIRMS, near-real-time active-fire detections from the MODIS and VIIRS satellite instruments, which the platform maps against insured locations to show which assets a wildfire may put at risk.
Six modules cover risk analytics and mapping, data augmentation, reports and dashboards, what-if scenario modelling, climate risk assessment through 2100, and real-time monitoring of storms, wildfires and floods, with alerts that estimate the financial impact on affected properties. MAPTYCS runs standalone or integrates with underwriting and risk management information systems; Riskonnect announced an integration partnership in April 2025, and a white-label version was integrated into TradEd, Ed Broking's risk-trading platform. The company states the platform is SOC 2 Type II compliant and has analysed more than 10 million properties for over 1,000 users. Its first clients in 2016 included MacAndrews & Forbes, and AXA US signed a three-year agreement in 2017; clients quoted on its site include Bouygues Construction, RATP Group and EPIC Brokers.
