Leica Pegasus TRK is Leica Geosystems' family of vehicle-mounted mobile mapping systems. It captures georeferenced 3D point clouds and imagery of roads, railways, cities, mines and waterways at traffic speed, cutting field time and crews' exposure to live traffic compared with static scanning. The portfolio comprises the lightweight Pegasus TRK300 (dual 32-channel scanners, up to 300 m range), the long-range TRK500/700 Neo (up to four million points per second, up to 730 m range) and the high-density TRK500/700 Evo (up to 4.4 million points per second) for engineering and rail work.
Each unit combines laser scanning and a SmartFusion camera system of up to 120 MP with an integrated multi-constellation GNSS receiver and an IMU, positioned by RTK corrections (HxGN SmartNet or NTRIP networks) or post-processing. Leica's comparison sheet gives an absolute accuracy of 11 mm horizontal and vertical after post-processing and 12 mm with RTK (RMS, with a DMI on a Leica reference area). SLAM (Neo and Evo), distance measurement instruments and an optional second GNSS antenna bridge tunnels and other GNSS-denied areas.
Leica Pegasus FIELD software handles mission planning, autonomous capture, real-time AI anonymisation and in-field export. Pegasus OFFICE refines trajectories, adjusts and classifies point clouds and exports LAS, E57 or Leica's LGSx format. The systems also integrate with IDS GeoRadar ground-penetrating radar. Leica cites the Ohio Department of Transportation, which deployed a TRK700 on a major urban interstate upgrade, and rail engineering firm SPL Powerlines, for which 20–30 km of track in a single shift became a realistic target, compared with about 3 km before.
