Keystone is Spacemetric's on-premises software for managing, processing and distributing image and video data from satellites, drones and aircraft. Raw sensor data must be corrected before it can be used for mapping or analytics: Keystone removes effects from the sensor system, platform movements and Earth's terrain to improve the radiometric and geometric quality of the imagery, and generates industry-standard products including orthoimages and mosaics.
It is a licensed client-server system installed on the customer's own real or virtual infrastructure, with a built-in catalogue, workflow manager, web portal and operator console, task automation and an API for integration. Spacemetric states existing support for more than 50 satellite and airborne sensor sources; for a new sensor it implements an adapter, and it also offers sensor data simulation and in-flight sensor calibration. Typical uses are archiving and production for satellite missions, deployed in-field processing for airborne sensors, and multi-source image product distribution hubs.
The first version of Keystone was delivered in 2004 to support ortho production for the multispectral Disaster Monitoring Constellation (DMC) satellites. Metria used a Keystone system to produce the 2020 layers of the free SACCESS satellite image service of Lantmäteriet, the Swedish national land survey; Earth-i chose it in 2017 to catalogue and geometrically correct still images and video from its prototype satellite; and in 2022 the Swedish Armed Forces renewed support and maintenance for Keystone instances that handle UAV-03 drone video. Spacemetric, based in Sweden, has been part of the AAC Clyde Space group since 2024.

Spacemetric
Spacemetric develops software that turns raw data from satellite and airborne imaging and video sensors into analytics-ready imagery products such as orthoimages and mosaics. Its products cover processing on premises (Keystone), processing as a managed service (Cloudstone) and onboard processing at the edge (Bluestone), with services including in-flight sensor calibration and sensor data simulation. Founded in Sweden in 1999, it serves sensor operators and manufacturers, integrators and large users of image data in the civilian and defence sectors, and has been part of the AAC Clyde Space group since 2024.
