Help4i is a decision-support tool from the French imagery-intelligence company Geo4i that helps image analysts recognise and identify military and civil equipment in satellite images. Geo4i first built it for its own IMINT work and now sells it.
The analyst enters criteria such as length, width, shape and country, and Help4i returns a list of candidate items from its reference database, each with a characteristics sheet and front, side and top views. The top view can be laid over the satellite image with transparency to confirm or reject the identification. Geo4i states the database holds several thousand selected military and civil items, updated and administered by IMINT analysts with more than 15 years of interpretation experience: about 3,600 naval, 1,300 air, 1,250 land, 115 surface-to-air, 90 ballistic-missile and 80 radar items. Its distributor European Space Imaging cites over 6,000 references.
Help4i can be used on its own or connected by plugin to QGIS or ArcGIS, with other systems on request, and it syncs with Geo4i's GeoSpace platform. It is sold as stand-alone software or as a GeoSpace add-on. When linked to Geo4i's AI4I detection, the AI draws a mask around a detected item to measure its length and width, and Help4i then proposes matching equipment automatically. Geo4i markets it as used by the French armed forces.
