Grain Intelligence

Grain Intelligence is a procurement intelligence platform from DTN for grain merchandisers and originators in the United States. DTN describes the problem it addresses as disconnected data and lost expertise: buyers juggle 8+ windows to piece together yield, basis and grower data, and market understanding leaves with experienced buyers.

The platform combines three views of a buyer's draw area. Decision-grade supply estimates identify surplus regions and yield potential using crop yield and satellite-based data, showing draw-area production and storage trends weeks ahead of official forecasts; the application reports planted acres, yield forecast, production, abandonment and pre-harvest inventory by crop. Pricing insights show real-time cash bids and futures across every elevator in the draw area, with historical pricing trends. Grower intelligence lists each grower with location, pricing, contact information and farm-level metrics such as acres, yield, bin capacity and on-farm storage, so origination teams can prioritise sourcing regions and high-value farms.

The estimates come from DTN's shared yield-forecast and operator-profile models, built on ingested satellite imagery, parcel ownership, government payment, crop input survey and grain bid data, with fields linked to the operators who farm them. DTN states its farm data covers 95% of U.S. farms. Grain Intelligence integrates with major CRMs and ERPs and is part of DTN Ag Hub, launched in February 2026.
