Geoambiente, a Brazilian geospatial company and Google Premier Partner, runs a geospatial analysis and remote sensing practice that carries out project-based studies from satellite imagery. Its most clearly defined line serves the forestry market, where companies need reliable information on land they plan to buy or lease and on the plantations they manage.
For forestry clients Geoambiente lists five deliverables: feasibility reports and studies for acquiring or leasing land (land use, silviculture, improvements, permanent preservation areas, environmental compliance and area history); technical reports for buying standing timber, with quantitative data and environmental compliance; a forest census that counts seedlings in drone or high-resolution satellite imagery using AI and machine learning; the planting age of silviculture derived from satellite image time series; and regional diagnostics that profile properties with silviculture as the first step of an expansion study. A 2019 description of the planting-age service adds delineation of pine and eucalyptus stands with a detailed report and charts of planted area for each of the last 10 years (eucalyptus) and 15 years (pine). The practice also takes on ESG, regional mapping and environmental projects: for São Paulo State's environment secretariat (SIMA) and Instituto Florestal it produced the R$1.4 million Native Vegetation Forest Inventory of the state from remote-sensing mapping and field surveys, launched in 2020.
The analyses run on Google Cloud Platform, using Google Earth Engine, BigQuery and generative AI tools. Geoambiente states more than 30 years of experience in geospatial analysis and remote sensing projects.
