Geosoft Target is Seequent's geological field mapping and drillhole visualisation software for early-stage mineral exploration. Exploration teams have to bring drilling results together with geology, geophysics, geochemistry and GIS data before deciding where to drill next; Target puts these in one Windows desktop environment.
Users import drilling and subsurface data from more than 50 supported formats, including CAD, GIS and mine-planning files, and run QA/QC checks and economic composites. They build plan maps, single or stacked sections, fence diagrams and strip logs; create 3D geological models, voxels, block models and isosurfaces; estimate volume and grade; and plan new drillholes in 2D and 3D. A geochemistry toolset adds summary statistics, histograms, tri-plots and principal component analysis.
Space data enters as an interpretation layer: Seequent states that users can "create integrated maps using geology, geophysics, geochemistry, GIS data, and satellite imagery" and add remote sensing data to guide drilling decisions. Target's Seeker tool, and the Find Geoscience Data tool in Target for ArcGIS Pro, connect to Seequent's Geosoft Public DAP Server of global geoscience datasets, which Seequent has demonstrated serving SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) topography; satellite and air-photo imagery can be inserted from Microsoft Azure Maps, and users can load their own imagery files and connect other DAP and WMS servers.
Target for ArcGIS Pro is a native add-in for Esri ArcGIS Pro. It imports drillholes from Access, Excel, CSV/ASCII, acQuire and MX Deposit as geodatabase features, shows them in 2D maps and 3D scenes with cross sections and strip logs, and shares projects through ArcGIS Online. Its interoperability tools are free; the drillhole tools need a licence. Seequent holds Esri Gold Partner status. Seequent's Target for ArcGIS Pro page quotes users at African Eagle Resources plc and Gold Fields International.
