ForestView is Forsite's digital forest inventory platform for forest owners, managers and public agencies that need current, defensible inventory data. Instead of relying on sample plots alone, it builds a spatially explicit digital twin of the forest landscape from high-density airborne LiDAR, which Forsite collects with its own aircraft, combined with spectral imagery, field calibration plots and machine learning.
Its Tree ID tools segment individual trees from the LiDAR point cloud and attribute species, height, diameter, volume and log products. Area-based models produce wall-to-wall stand metrics, and both roll up into polygon inventories that Forsite describes as government-accepted. Further layers cover terrain, roads and streams, biomass and carbon, growth-and-yield inputs, and fuel and fire-hazard surfaces powered by Forsite's FireView, whose Fuel ID pipeline maps fuel types from Sentinel-2 satellite imagery and LiDAR. Buyers can mix tiers (tree-level, enhanced rasters, satellite-derived species and polygons), and every deliverable carries error estimates.
Outputs are delivered in formats for ArcGIS Pro, QGIS and growth-and-yield software and through the ForestView platform; some datasets are available off the shelf through Forsite Exchange. Forsite reports operational inventories in 21 U.S. states and 9 Canadian provinces, over 100 million hectares of forest analysed across North America, and 160,000 miles of utility-line vegetation inventory using Tree ID.
