TERRASIGNA's Earth observation monitoring services turn satellite data into environmental information for public and private organisations that need to follow change over large or hard-to-reach areas. The Bucharest-based company selects, processes and interprets the data with in-house algorithms and GIS tools, and delivers the results as maps, indicators and analyses.
The service covers three lines. Environment monitoring maps urban sprawl, forest gain and loss, forest fires, woodland vegetation and regeneration, agricultural expansion and crop types, floods, land ecosystems and biodiversity. Coastal monitoring derives water-quality parameters (turbidity, suspended particulate matter, chlorophyll-a, floating algae, water surface temperature), maps bathymetry and benthic habitats, and tracks shoreline and land-cover change. Climate change analysis combines EO with in-situ data.
Published projects show the inputs: Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2 and Landsat imagery for forest-change monitoring in the Forest Inspector, whose forest-loss detections fed Romania's SUMAL wood-tracking platform; Sentinel-2 for the Green Lung, a national woodland map of 7.48 million hectares with accuracy measured at over 95%; Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 for shoreline monitoring; Landsat 8 for chlorophyll and suspended-matter maps of Lake Titicaca; and MODIS for snow-cover trends. Commissioned by the European Space Agency, TERRASIGNA analysed the environmental impact of Inter-American Development Bank investments in Bolivia over 2003-2016. It also mapped two decades of urban evolution in Romania for the World Bank, and took part in the ESA Coastal Erosion programme, which covered 4,500 km of shoreline in six countries.

TERRASIGNA
TERRASIGNA is a Romanian company in the business of Earth Observation data processing: it selects, analyses and processes satellite data with in-house algorithms and turns it into information for public and private organisations. Its monitoring services are mainly based on satellite radar interferometry (InSAR/PSI) and cover natural-hazard risk assessment, infrastructure stability, environmental monitoring of areas affected by human activities, coastal and marine monitoring and precision agriculture. It also develops Earth Observation educational software for high schools and universities.
