eclayr is an engineering tool from GMV for evaluating the performance of satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS), such as EGNOS, and for verifying their compliance with predefined requirements such as the ICAO GNSS SARPs. Checking an SBAS against those requirements means collecting and processing SBAS messages and GNSS reference data and turning them into performance statistics.
eclayr automatically retrieves the inputs it needs (RINEX 2.x/3.x, RINEX B, EGNOS EMS, IONEX, SP3-c and SP3-d, DCB, ANTEX and IGS products) from public FTP servers and the EGNOS Data Access Service (EDAS). It supports the GPS, GLONASS and Galileo core constellations, single-frequency SBAS L1 and dual-frequency multi-constellation (DFMC) L1/L5 SBAS, RAIM and ARAIM, and complies with RTCA DO-229 (SBAS MOPS) versions A, C, D and E, selectable by the user. Range-domain analyses cover the satellite residual error at the worst user location (SREW), UDRE, GIVD, GIVE and constellation time offsets; user-domain analyses cover protection levels, position errors, availability, safety index, continuity risk and service coverage at local and regional scale. SBAS messages that do not meet the SARPs requirements are reported as events.
Results appear as interactive plots and colour performance maps, and the tool generates complete assessment reports in HTML and PDF (customisable with company logos and disclaimers) plus an editable DocBook version. It runs on a standard Windows PC, and its kernel can also run on Linux. GMV also offers an advanced expert support service for additional analyses and reports, and training and consultancy for planning and implementing GNSS-based operations.
