EasyNAV EMG100 is CHC Navigation's entry-level 2.5D machine-guidance system for excavators, launched in April 2025 and aimed at small construction projects, where relying on surveyors and assistants for precision control, and frequently climbing on and off the machine, adds labour cost and rework.
The kit combines dual GNSS antennas tracking GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS (plus L-Band), IMU tilt sensors mounted on the excavator, and a 10.1-inch rugged Android display running the EasyNAV software. With RTK corrections from a GNSS RTK network (including CHC's Quick CORS connection to its SWAS base-station network) or a local base station, received over 4G LTE or an external radio, the display shows the operator the bucket's position, depth, slope and real-time cut/fill against the design, with a stated precision of up to ±3 cm. Operators can create and modify simple plane, line and slope designs directly in the field without a surveyor, and can set audible alerts when the bucket approaches the design level.
CHC Navigation states that installation takes less than two hours, calibration 15 minutes, and that operators can master the basic functions in about 30 minutes. The system supports swivel and triple booms, tilt buckets (with an optional IMU sensor) and multiple bucket profiles, and is used for slope and embankment construction, trenching, plane excavation and foundation excavation. The provider claims productivity gains of up to 30% and offers remote assistance and over-the-air software updates from the display.
