EarthStreamer is GeoVille's compression, encryption and streaming technology for Earth observation, climate, situational-awareness and defence data, serviced by its subsidiary EarthStreamer GmbH. It addresses the cost of storing and moving very large satellite archives and the difficulty of getting imagery to users on slow or disrupted connections. The software stack preprocesses and grids data, encodes it into VP9/x265 streams and adds digital rights management with encrypted streams, central authentication and access tracking; GeoVille states it can shrink a mission archive by over 10 to 100 times. Users play georeferenced streams in a browser on desktop or mobile, convert and download scenes or time series into GIS-ready formats, or ingest the streams into their own applications through APIs, an SDK and a Docker-based toolbox, while a Mobilizer stack optimises streams for very small-bandwidth devices. In ESA's DUNIA platform, which GeoVille and its partners developed and operate, it streams Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 archives across Africa; under ESA's Sunrise partnership with Eutelsat it delivers Copernicus Sentinel-1, -2 and -3 data and services over the Eutelsat OneWeb constellation to remote areas. For defence and civil security, ES MOD carries encrypted, multi-channel live feeds between the field and headquarters over trusted commercial SatCom, and the EarthStreamer site lists the Austrian Armed Forces, Belgian Navy, Finnish Navy and Finnish Border Guard as its users; ES GOV, developed for the European Commission's DG DEFIS, is a high-security dissemination platform for governments with post-quantum cryptography. A SAT-STREAM variant carries live drone video over low-bandwidth satellite links. The core technology is covered by patent application EP 22 152 167.
