EarthScan API is the programmatic route to Mitiga Solutions' physical climate risk data. It gives insurers, financial institutions, real estate investors, energy and infrastructure firms and ESG consultancies the same science as the EarthScan platform without a user interface, so results can be fed into their own models, dashboards, underwriting engines and reporting pipelines.
A caller specifies a coordinate, a hazard, a climate scenario (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5 or SSP5-8.5), a time horizon (1970–2100 in five-year steps), a return period (2 to 1,000 years) and a percentile. The API returns quantitative metrics such as maximum temperature, five-day rainfall, consecutive dry days, flood depth and a fire risk indicator, together with A–F hazard ratings, exceedance probabilities and Climate Value at Risk (CVaR). A Custom CVaR endpoint estimates flood and wind losses from asset attributes such as floors, materials and occupancy. Each call returns one location and one signal as JSON or CSV, and calls can be scripted across thousands of assets.
The data come from Mitiga's Multiple Futures Model, which combines CMIP6, CORDEX, ERA5 and NASA GDDP climate datasets with Bayesian methods. The flood signals use the Copernicus GLO-30 and GLO-90 elevation models, which were acquired by the TanDEM-X radar satellite mission, and the wildfire signal uses ESA WorldCover land cover, based on Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 data.
Pricing is usage-based per request, with a free sandbox for testing and production accounts billed per contract. Australian consultancy Sustain 2050 uses the API to assess thousands of client assets and feed results into client systems such as Power BI.

Mitiga Solutions
Mitiga Solutions is a Barcelona-based climate technology company, a spin-off from Spain's National Supercomputing Centre, that provides science-based intelligence on physical climate risk. Its EarthScan platform and API assess how hazards such as flood, heat, drought, wind and wildfire may affect individual assets and portfolios under climate scenarios from 1970 to 2100, with risk ratings, return periods and Climate Value at Risk. Its Disclose tool turns these assessments into physical climate risk reports aligned with CSRD (ESRS E1) and IFRS S2.
