EarthScan

EarthScan is Mitiga Solutions' self-service climate intelligence platform for assessing physical climate risk to individual assets and whole portfolios. It is aimed at investors, insurers, asset owners and sustainability consultancies that would otherwise rely on historical weather data, static hazard maps or consultant reports.

Users upload asset locations as a CSV file or choose from more than 500 million pre-mapped assets. EarthScan returns A to F ratings, hazard metrics, return periods from 2 to 1,000 years, exceedance probabilities and, for flood and wind, Climate Value at Risk, from 1970 to 2100 in five-year steps under three IPCC-aligned scenarios. Hazards covered include heat stress, drought, wind, extreme precipitation, coastal and riverine flooding and wildfire. Atmospheric hazards come from Mitiga's Multiple Futures Model, which combines CMIP6 and CORDEX climate models, ERA5 reanalysis and NASA GDDP data with Bayesian modelling, validated against more than 100,000 weather stations. Satellite-derived layers named by the provider include the Copernicus GLO-30 and GLO-90 elevation models in the flood models and ESA WorldCover land cover, built from Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 data, in the wildfire signal. Coverage spans more than 180 countries, at up to 90 m resolution.

Results appear in dashboards and can be exported as Excel, PDF and CSV files or pulled through an API. The Disclose module produces reports aligned with CSRD (ESRS E1) and IFRS S2.
