JeoDijital, an Ankara-based geo-information company founded in 2000, supplies and processes Earth observation satellite imagery for organisations in Turkey and the neighbouring Turkic republics of the Caucasus and Central Asia. It offers a combination of imagery from more than 100 active and passive EO satellites, with resolutions from 30 centimetres to several hundred metres, so a buyer can source different sensor types through one provider.
The optical range covers very-high to high-resolution imagery in the visible spectrum and multispectral data in the visible, near-infrared, shortwave-infrared and thermal-infrared bands, used for mapping, monitoring and environmental analysis. For hyperspectral data JeoDijital works with partner Pixxel, whose Fireflies satellites provide 5 m hyperspectral imagery that can identify materials and track environmental change over time; Pixxel lists JeoDijital among its partners in Turkey. Synthetic aperture radar data of various wavelengths is supplied from both open and commercial providers, giving imagery through cloud and darkness.
Beyond data supply, JeoDijital carries out value-added processing and analysis, and offers training, implementation and technical support. Its published projects using satellite imagery include remote sensing for geothermal resource exploration in Indonesia and an oil-seepage detection pilot using SAR imagery off Amasra, Turkey, for Turkish Petroleum (TPAO).
