DestinEStreamer is GeoVille's data streaming service on the European Union's Destination Earth (DestinE) Platform. It addresses the cost of downloading and storing very large Earth observation and climate archives: GeoVille's compression and streaming technology lets users scan and use hundreds of terabytes of data directly in a web browser on desktop or mobile, without heavy downloads.
The service portfolio lists 15 datasets, including Copernicus Sentinel-2 Level-2A imagery (streamed for Europe at 10, 20 or 60 m), the global Copernicus Sentinel-3 daily NDVI synthesis, Copernicus ERA5 and ERA5-Land reanalysis, and the DestinE Climate Adaptation Digital Twin projections (second-generation IFS-NEMO SSP3-7.0 streams since July 2026).
Users work in two ways. A web application lets them explore streams visually, run StatOnEdge statistics (computed locally in the browser with WebAssembly) over administrative regions, drawn polygons or single points, download GeoTIFFs and timeseries (Sentinel-2 true colour, spectral indices such as NDVI and NDWI, and bands; Sentinel-3 NDVI), and capture screenshots, video clips and time-lapses. A Python API and toolbox, with example Jupyter notebooks, connect to the streams and build data cubes on the fly. GeoAI models, including ready-to-run burned-area and cloud detection, can be applied to a Sentinel-2 image inside the service (built with FlyPix; the GeoAI view shows storage quota and available credits), and a demonstrator downscales Climate DT 2 m temperature from 5 km to 10 m for three test regions.
StatOnEdge was developed in ESA's DTE DA-DDS project. Browsing and streaming are free for registered DestinE Platform users; GeoTIFF downloads and Digital Twin data require DestinE Upgraded Access (available on approval to public authorities, academia and research, and SMEs and start-ups) or a tenancy. The service has had regular releases since it was announced in June 2024.

GeoVille
GeoVille is an Earth observation company based in Innsbruck, Austria, founded in 1998 by Dr. Christian Hoffmann, that turns satellite data into geo-information products and services for institutions, public authorities, companies and non-profit organisations worldwide. It works through five service lines: satellite imagery and geoproducts, data access and streaming, land monitoring and analytics, GI systems and platform interfaces, and advisory and capacity building. GeoVille cites more than 500 national and international contract implementations in 140 countries, for clients including ESA, the European Environment Agency and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, and runs ISO 9001-certified quality and ISO 14001-certified environmental management systems. Its data-streaming and secure satellite-communication solutions are serviced by its subsidiary Earth Streamer.
