Country & CBRN Profiles is a Janes structured intelligence dataset for defence, government and national-security analysts who need to compare countries and identify emerging security risks. It has three components. Country reports, organised in a PMESII framework (political, military, economic, social, information and infrastructure), give a validated view of each country's structures, capabilities, risks and external relations, and users can compare PMESII elements across countries side by side. Multilayered stability indicators help identify emerging national security risks and potential flashpoints; Janes cites PMESII reports and country stability indicators for over 180 countries. CBRN country profiles and assessments provide validated analysis of offensive and defensive chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear capabilities; the Janes Help Centre gives their coverage as the nuclear/radiological, chemical and biological capabilities of 100 countries.
According to the Janes Help Centre, the CBRN assessments also cover CBRN delivery systems, a Nuclear Geospatial Layer that maps IAEA-declared civilian and undeclared nuclear fuel-cycle sites, and a Satellite Imagery Analysis component that provides access to commercially available satellite imagery related to CBRN. Janes' training video for this component shows monthly activity-analysis reports on Iranian and North Korean nuclear-related facilities, with the relevant satellite imagery attached.
The dataset is delivered through the Janes Portal; through Janes Data-as-a-Service, for embedding in customers' own mission systems (File GeoDB, Parquet, RDBMS, XML and label/property graph formats, with API delivery available); and through partner integrations with GIS, battle-management, imagery and analytics tools. Procurement is possible through established contract vehicles.
