Daily satellite snow maps — cover, depth and SWE at 20 m resolution, powered by AI gap-filling

COSMOS is ExoLabs' operational daily snow-data service that fuses imagery from nine satellites — Sentinel-2 A/B, Sentinel-3 A/B (OLCI and SLSTR), Landsat 8/9, VIIRS and MODIS — into seamless, cloud-gap-free maps of snow cover, snow depth, snow-water-equivalent and snow age. Machine-learning algorithms model snow lines, topographic shading and land cover to reconstruct conditions beneath cloud with a 5–20 hour latency, delivering global coverage at 500 m and high-resolution Alpine coverage at 20 m. Products are distributed as GeoTIFF files, WMTS/WMS tiles and point-query REST APIs, and are visualised in the free ExoSnow mobile app. Target verticals include hydrology and water-resource management, hydropower planning, outdoor-risk assessment, tourism and insurance (exposure management, index insurance, loss assessment).
