Climate FieldView

Climate FieldView is a digital farming platform from Climate LLC, a Bayer company. It gives growers one account for machine data, field imagery, prescriptions and yield results, so they can see what is happening across every acre without walking each field.

The FieldView Drive 2.0 plugs into a tractor's or combine's CAN diagnostic port and streams planting, application and harvest data over Bluetooth to the FieldView Cab app on an iPad; data can also be uploaded from flash drives or other systems. Field Health Imagery, part of the paid Plus plan, uses satellite images to produce a vegetation image based on the Climate Crop Index (a green-biomass index that Climate says is corrected for soil background and less prone to saturation than NDVI), a scouting image that flags areas to visit, and a true-colour image. A machine-learning classifier masks clouds and shadows, and growers can be notified when new images arrive. Imagery from aerial and drone partners such as DroneDeploy and Sentera can also be brought into FieldView alongside the satellite images. In 2019 Airbus signed a global agreement to supply SPOT 6, SPOT 7 and Pléiades imagery to FieldView users.

Growers drop GPS scouting pins and share them with agronomists, build seed and fertility prescriptions (seed scripts draw on data from over a million test plots) and send them wirelessly to equipment, and compare yield by hybrid, input or practice. FieldView runs on iPad, iPhone, Android and the web, connects to more than 60 partner tools and offers a developer API. In the US the Basic plan is free and Plus costs $649 a year. Future Farming reported in 2023 that FieldView was available in 23 countries and used on over 220 million subscribed acres.
