CartoVista is a cloud web-mapping platform from CartoVista (Gatineau, Quebec) for building, analysing and publishing interactive maps, dashboards and story-map presentations without traditional GIS workflows. Users drag and drop spreadsheets, Shapefiles, MapInfo tables, GeoPackage, GeoJSON and GeoTIFF rasters, or connect ArcGIS feature services, OGC WMS/WMTS services and live GeoJSON feeds.
Raster support lets teams overlay their own earth observation imagery and other grid data on business data, read values with datatips, draw linear profiles and animate raster time series. CartoVista has demonstrated this with Sentinel-2 shortwave-infrared imagery of the January 2025 Palisades fire. The platform does not supply satellite data itself: the buyer brings it, or CartoVista's professional services team helps source satellite imagery and remote sensing data. Its energy, mining and utilities offer names hazard analysis with earth observation data (ground deformation, flooding, landslides, subsidence), and its insurance offer names earth observation data for catastrophe planning. CATALYST, the ground-displacement monitoring brand of PCI Geomatics, runs its client platform on CartoVista's web-mapping technology.
Other tools include address geocoding, drive-time isochrones, heatmaps interpolated from point layers, composite variable scoring, and point-of-interconnection analysis with FERC Order 2023 public heatmaps for transmission planners. Integration runs through a free QGIS plugin, single sign-on (OpenID Connect, Microsoft Entra ID) and a REST API with more than 250 functions and a Python client (Professional plan and above). It is sold as SaaS hosted on AWS, with on-premises or private-cloud deployment as an option, and CartoVista states it is SOC 2 Type II compliant. Published per-user plans run from a Free tier to Enterprise. Customers CartoVista lists include Hydro-Québec, Glencore, MISO, ISO New England, NYISO, the Tennessee Valley Authority, Intact Insurance and the Ville de Gatineau.
