Satellite-powered construction site monitoring and urban change detection

Buildspot is a satellite-based monitoring service developed by Pixstart that detects and tracks construction activity, infrastructure changes, soil sealing, and urban expansion. Operating through three modules — site monitoring, site detection, and urbanisation quantification — it fuses multi-sensor Copernicus Earth Observation imagery with machine-learning to automate analysis at scale. Weekly reports and real-time alerts are delivered via a web interface, enabling asset operators (electricity, gas, rail, water), urban planners, and environmental managers to reduce site visits, identify illegal constructions, and produce monthly land-cover cartographies and dashboards. The service has been operational since July 2020 and covers unlimited geographic extents.
