Bhoonidhi is the Earth observation data hub of ISRO's National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC). It gives access to an archive of remote sensing data from 47 satellites, Indian and foreign, acquired since 1986, and handles the regional distribution of Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8/9 data in India. Holdings range from 0.28 m to 1 km resolution: IRS missions such as Cartosat, Resourcesat, EOS-04 (C-band SAR) and EOS-06, plus NovaSAR, KOMPSAT-3/3A, Terra/Aqua, Suomi-NPP/JPSS-1, NOAA and MetOp data and, since July 2026, NISAR S-band SAR products.
Users search the catalogue by place, polygon, shapefile, event or Survey of India mapsheet, then download or order standard, orthorectified, surface-reflectance and analysis-ready products, CartoDEM elevation tiles, mosaics and geophysical products such as NDVI, chlorophyll and soil moisture. Ready products download directly over HTTPS; products generated on demand are delivered by SFTP. Companion applications cover visualisation and animation of daily acquisitions (Bhoonidhi Vista), live satellite orbit tracking (Upagrah) and acquisition feasibility checks and requests for new EOS-04 acquisitions (PLANNeR). A STAC-based REST API, enabled on request, supports programmatic search and download.
Under India's Space Policy 2023, data of 5 m and coarser are free and open to all registered users. Finer standard products are free to Indian government entities, but DEMs, mosaics, pan-sharpened products and KOMPSAT-3/3A data are priced for them too; other users buy finer data per scene through NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) under a published price list.

National Remote Sensing Centre
The National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) is one of the primary centres of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India, based in Hyderabad. It establishes ground stations to receive satellite data, generates data products and disseminates them to users, and develops remote sensing applications, including disaster management support, geospatial services for good governance and capacity building for professionals, faculty and students. Its user portals include Bhoonidhi for satellite data, the Bhuvan geoportal and the NICES Earth and climate data portal.
