BasinIQ is SynMax's AI-enabled basin intelligence platform for upstream oil and gas. It addresses the lag between field activity and public reporting: state filings and production reports arrive weeks after rigs move, frac crews arrive or pads are built, while operators' own knowledge sits in PDFs, spreadsheets and data lakes that are hard to search.
BasinIQ applies AI detection to SynMax's high-resolution satellite imagery to track rigs, frac crews, pad construction, completions and infrastructure change across U.S. basins; SynMax states that frac crew detections are mapped daily with 99% accuracy. The platform combines these observations with state-reported production and permit data, pipeline flows and a customer's own completion reports, drilling reports and other files, and runs machine-learning forecasts of schedules, production and economics. Users ask questions in plain English, and agent-based workflows return summaries, maps, charts and alerts that show which data sources and steps were used. Outputs can be pushed to WellView, Snowflake, Databricks and OSDU.
Typical uses include alerting teams when frac activity appears near producing wells, screening acreage and potential well layouts, checking deal data rooms against observed field conditions and comparing operator performance. In a SynMax case study, BasinIQ found that 441 of 4,058 wells in New Mexico's part of the Permian Basin met a 500-foot frac-hit definition.
BasinIQ is sold in four tiers: Essentials (one basin, self-service, billed monthly), Operations (multi-basin, annual subscription), Enterprise, and Engine (embedded through REST API connections, with on-premises, hybrid or cloud deployment).
