Bad Elf Flex is a survey-grade Bluetooth GNSS receiver and data logger for GIS, mapping and survey field crews who want one receiver for both mapping and survey work instead of several devices. It tracks GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo, plus QZSS and IRNSS signals, and streams positions over Bluetooth or USB to location-aware apps on iOS, Android and Windows, including Esri ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123.
Out of the box, Flex Standard works single-frequency and reaches 30-60 cm with SBAS (WAAS) at no extra cost. Multi-frequency RTK is unlocked permanently with an Extreme activation, or for 24 hours with a US$25 Flex Token, giving about 1 cm horizontal accuracy (8 mm + 1 ppm) from CORS or VRS networks through the built-in NTRIP client of the free Bad Elf Flex app. Where there is no cellular coverage, a token also unlocks Hemisphere's Atlas L-band corrections, delivered by satellite, for 5-10 cm accuracy. Adding a UHF radio kit to each of two units (US$1,999.99 per kit) turns them into a base/rover pair with a 2-10 km line-of-sight range.
The receiver logs raw data in RINEX and NMEA 0183, has a sunlight-readable display and keypad, is IP65-rated and runs about 11 hours in RTK mode. The app adds a checklist-based laser offset workflow with LTI TruPulse rangefinders. Prices start at US$2,999.99 (Standard) and US$5,999.99 (Extreme). Mountaineer Gas runs more than 100 Flex Extreme units with Esri Field Maps across 6,000 miles of West Virginia pipeline.
