Athena is Jua's AI agent for energy-trading desks. Weather-driven wind and solar output now moves power prices within hours, and a trader may need to follow fifteen or more weather models, prices across many market zones and their own positions at once. Athena watches these inputs and answers plain-language questions about them. It returns its reasoning, generated charts and conclusions in a shared workspace. It reads Jua's own EPT-2 model family. This includes EPT-2 Rapid Refresh, a global model updated 24 times a day from real-time satellite observations, and EPT-2.1 Helios, a European solar nowcast initialised from satellite observations every 30 minutes. It also reads third-party models from ECMWF (IFS, ENS, EC46, AIFS), DWD (ICON), NOAA (GFS), Google DeepMind (GraphCast), Microsoft (Aurora), Météo-France (AROME), KNMI (HARMONIE) and the UK Met Office, and it flags when the models start to diverge. Market inputs include ENTSO-E, EPEX SPOT, EEX, Netztransparenz and NESO data. Customers can connect their own positions, contracts and asset metadata. Athena produces power-output forecasts in MW, scheduled market briefings, model benchmarking against weather stations and reanalysis, and historical backtesting. Alerts and workflows can send actions to an HTTP endpoint, an order management system or a chat workspace. Access is through a web dashboard, REST API, Python SDK and CLI. Jua reports that teams using Athena have cut manual research time by 80% and moved 10x faster from signal to decision, and that one customer saw a five-hour analysis completed in two minutes. At launch in January 2026, Jua said it served utilities and trading firms on four continents, with portfolios covering more than 50 GW.
