Aspectum

Aspectum is a cloud-based GIS and location-intelligence platform for visualising, blending, analysing and sharing business and geospatial data on interactive maps. It is aimed at business managers, consultants and GIS or data analysts who would otherwise juggle spreadsheets, reports and separate maps. Users upload their own data (GeoJSON, Shapefile, KML/KMZ, CSV/XLS) or use built-in demographic, financial and administrative datasets, then apply custom styling, 3D rendering, analysis algorithms, widgets, SQL queries and automated update chains, and share maps by link.

Satellite input is optional but load-bearing when used. Paid plans include satellite imagery support and a satellite basemap, and imagery from satellites, drones or other web services can be added over WMS. Through its Data on Demand service, Aspectum processes satellite imagery for change detection, building detection, car detection and disaster detection. In October 2020 it announced a partnership with Planet to offer turnkey change and object detection projects: a client requests a report on any object in any location, and Planet imagery processed by EOS is delivered to the account with visualisation, widgets and insights. Published examples include deforestation mapping from Sentinel imagery, wildfire damage assessment and monitoring construction of Istanbul Airport.

The platform runs on AWS, offers a REST API for creating and updating datasets, and is sold as a free plan, monthly or annual subscriptions and individually priced Enterprise plans. Aspectum began in 2017 as the geospatial analytics partner of EOS Data Analytics.
