Ambee Weather API delivers current, historical and forecast weather data for any landmass worldwide and up to 50 miles offshore, for teams building risk models, forecasting systems and operational analytics. Single weather sources are uneven: satellites miss local phenomena, ground stations exist only where infrastructure has been built, and models carry systematic biases.
Ambee's Climate Engine ingests satellite imagery, radar, airport and ground-station observations and atmospheric and reanalysis models (including GFS, ICON, ECMWF, ERA5 and CFSR), maps them onto a consistent spatial grid, and uses machine learning to calibrate across inputs, fill spatial gaps and account for terrain and elevation, followed by proprietary bias correction. Parameters cover temperature and derived fields such as heat index, wind chill and dew point; precipitation and snowfall; wind at 10, 80 and 100 m; pressure and humidity; cloud cover, visibility and solar radiation; and soil moisture and soil temperature at four depths down to 289 cm.
Present conditions refresh hourly and forecasts every 12 hours, with forecasts to 15 days (360 hours), subseasonal forecasts to 45 days and continuous archives from 2015. Standard resolution is 5 km, with sub-kilometre resolution available on request. Data is delivered through a REST API, marketplaces including Snowflake, Databricks, Datarade and Google Cloud, temperature map tiles, and bulk CSV, NetCDF, GRIB and Parquet files. Ambee names demand forecasting, supply chain and logistics, insurance and risk modelling, programmatic advertising and climate risk reporting as uses; Navia Life Care uses the Weather API in its healthcare app.
