Ambee Air Quality API

Ambee Air Quality API supplies outdoor air-quality data for any location on land, for organisations that need pollution exposure in their products and planning, including places where regulatory monitoring stations are sparse or absent. It returns concentrations of PM2.5, PM10, NO2, SO2, CO and ozone with an air quality index under US EPA, UK DAQI, Indian AQI, European CAQI and other standards. Present conditions refresh hourly; the standard API forecasts 48 hours ahead at hourly steps, with forecasts up to four days available on request, and a gap-free historical archive starts in 2015. Data can be queried by coordinates or postal code, with ZIP, DMA and custom boundaries available on request.

The Ambee Climate Engine ingests regulatory ground stations, satellite observations from Sentinel-5P, MODIS and VIIRS, Ambee's own sensor network, meteorological models and emission inventories. Machine-learning models calibrate the inputs and fill spatial gaps where no sensors exist, and accuracy is tested by leaving out each ground station in turn and predicting it from the surrounding data. Ambee also integrates aerosol data from NASA's PACE mission, to which it is an early-adopter partner. Ambee reports accuracy above 90% (100% minus MAPE) against ground monitors in four regions, and its data pipelines are ISO 9001 certified.

Data is delivered through a REST API, map tiles compatible with Mapbox, Esri, CARTO, Leaflet and OpenLayers, flat files (CSV, NetCDF, GRIB, Parquet) and data marketplaces including Snowflake, Databricks, Datarade and Google Cloud. Published uses include clean-route navigation, HVAC and air-purifier automation, digital health alerts and programmatic advertising; named users include Sanofi's Allegra Airways, Bayer and the digital health platform juli.
