Airis is Eoliann's web platform for climate risk analysis of infrastructure assets and networks. Operators of energy, transport and telecommunications infrastructure face growing damage from floods, wildfires, landslides and other extreme events, while official hazard maps are often incomplete or too coarse for decisions about individual assets.
Users upload point and linear assets, such as substations or power lines. Airis estimates hazard intensity across several probability levels and translates it into an impact specific to each asset category, using expected damage metrics and failure probability. It covers riverine and coastal floods (quantified as water depth), wildfires, onshore and offshore wind gusts, landslides, extreme rainfall, droughts, heatwaves and tree fall. Results can be explored on a map from portfolio level down to a single asset, by region, province and municipality, with elevation, slope and soil type shown for each asset and filtering and sorting by multiple indicators.
Eoliann processes official satellite and geospatial datasets with proprietary machine-learning models, validated against real events and local authority maps with the support of the European Space Agency. Estimates have European-wide coverage at up to 30 m resolution, for current conditions and the SSP 2.6, 4.5 and 8.5 climate scenarios up to 2050. In a 2024 proof of concept with Terna, operator of the Italian national transmission grid, Eoliann produced 30 m water-depth maps for three pilot areas in Piedmont, validated them against observed flood events and official maps, and applied its Airis Flood machine-learning model to the same areas. In a proof of concept with the Italian renewable energy group CVA, Airis produced a risk profile for more than 3,600 network segments and 20 substations. The platform is hosted on AWS in Frankfurt.

Eoliann
Eoliann is a Turin-based benefit corporation, founded in 2022, that forecasts climate risk for infrastructure using geospatial and satellite data and artificial intelligence. Its platform Airis estimates the probability, intensity and physical and economic impact of climate events such as floods, wildfires, landslides and wind gusts on assets and networks, with scenarios up to 2050 at up to 30 m resolution. It also provides single-asset climate risk reports, climate data layers and co-developed models for energy, transport and telecommunications operators.
