AI Training Data is a custom-made satellite imagery dataset from SI Imaging Services (SIIS) for businesses and research institutions that train AI models. SIIS states that AI projects need sufficient and suitable training data, and that collecting it adds time and cost; the product supplies both the imagery and pre-cut image patches containing the target objects to reduce that effort.
The standard package contains 50 scenes with valid objects plus patches cut around those objects. Scenes come from the archive of the KOMPSAT-3 and KOMPSAT-3A optical satellites, developed by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) and distributed commercially by SIIS, so specific acquisition dates cannot be set; a minimum number of valid objects per scene is guaranteed. SIIS's Korean product page states that scenes are limited to areas outside Korea. Patches are 1,024 x 1,024 pixels as standard; their size can change with the object size or the customer's request, and the number of patches with the object size. The brochure states that patches come free with purchased scenes ("Buy Scene, Get Patch for free!"). Sample patches on the product page show vessels, aircraft and swimming pools.
Ordering runs by email: the customer selects the object (sending coordinates where known), SIIS verifies validity and estimated time, acquires the valid scenes, inspects the data, cuts the patches and delivers scenes and patches as TIFF or JPG files by FTP. Estimated timelines are given per inquiry. The data may be used for AI training only; other purposes are not allowed.
