AgroSuite

AgroSuite is GAF Geospatial's modular portfolio of Earth observation data products and software for agriculture. It serves agricultural administrations, insurers, banks and other actors in the agricultural value chain who need accurate, timely information on cropped area, crop activity, yield, soil moisture and weather-related production risk.

AgroCrop monitors agricultural parcels with machine learning and time-series analysis of multi-temporal Copernicus Sentinel-1 radar and Sentinel-2 optical data, Planet Fusion data, orthophotos and drone imagery. It classifies more than 180 crop types and detects activities such as ploughing, sowing, harvest and mowing. GAF uses it for automated CAP area monitoring, fully operational in six German federal states including Bavaria and Saxony, with results continuously validated by the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

AgroSoil estimates root-zone soil moisture from 0 to 100 cm depth, daily and at 5–30 m resolution, from Sentinel-1, SMAP, ERA5, elevation models and soil data, with a reported global validation R² of 0.91 and time series from 1981. It received the EARSC Product Award 2022 and the GeoBuiz Innovation Award 2023.

AgroYield predicts arable crop and grassland yields by combining optical and radar satellite data with AgroSoil soil moisture, weather data and reference yields in a set of machine-learning models. AgroFin gives insurers' actuarial teams access to EO-based underlyings for designing index insurance products with low basis risk. The suite also includes the AgroView insurance web platform, which is listed separately.
