Description
About the call
The Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic (NPA) Youth Call for Projects is a special call within the NPA programme aimed at involving young people in cooperation activities across the northernmost parts of Europe — Finland, Ireland, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and parts of the UK (Scotland and Northern Ireland). The call opens 10 June 2026 and closes 2 October 2026 at 12:00 CET, with funding decisions expected in December 2026.
About the NPA programme
The Northern Periphery and Arctic programme supports cooperation between remote and sparsely-populated communities on matters of shared interest — climate adaptation in the high North, cryosphere and permafrost work, maritime safety, indigenous communities, youth engagement, and rural service provision in low-density geographies. Programme partners include cities, regions, NGOs, universities, public utilities and youth organisations.
What this means for cities and regions
For local authorities, youth services, schools and youth organisations in remote and rural NPA territories. The Youth Call is more focused than the NPA general calls — it specifically funds projects that involve young people in cooperation activities, addressing shared priorities of the programme. Joint Secretariat support services and events will be offered between January 2026 and the call deadline.
Update, September 2026
The Youth Call opened on 10 June 2026 and closes on 2 October 2026 at 11:59 CET.
