Global Feature Extraction is Ecopia AI's custom feature-extraction service. Ecopia's proprietary AI systems digitise any feature discernible in high-resolution satellite or aerial imagery for a customer's area of interest, anywhere in the world, up to continental scale. Source imagery comes from Ecopia's partner network, including Airbus Pléiades and Pléiades Neo, Vantor (formerly Maxar) and Hexagon's HxGN Content Program, or customers can supply their own. Typical layers include 2D and 3D building footprints, roads, sidewalks, railways, waterbodies, vegetation and other land cover. They are extracted with the accuracy of a trained GIS professional (Ecopia cites >95% geometric accuracy) and delivered as GIS-ready vector files such as shapefiles. Ecopia produces millions of square kilometres of vector maps each month, its data is used in more than 100 countries, and change detection keeps maps current as fresh imagery becomes available.
