Buildspot is Pixstart's satellite monitoring service for sensitive areas: infrastructure protection perimeters and easement zones, drinking-water catchment areas, construction sites and urbanising land. It automatically downloads, corrects and analyses Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery, refreshed every 2-5 days, to detect human or natural changes such as earthworks, soil sealing, vegetation and forest clearing, illegal dumping, new construction and temporary occupation. Detections are filtered against the operator's business rules and declared works, then sent as real-time alerts to a web application where field teams can locate, document and close each case; weekly reports and exportable surveillance reports support regulatory audits. It is aimed at managers of electricity and gas transport networks, rail networks and drinking-water catchments who want fewer site visits, and covers unlimited geographic extents. Developed with ESA and CNES support, it began as a construction-progress, illegal-construction and monthly land-cover mapping service, and ESA's project record (July 2020) lists it as in operation.
