VAKE Maritime Domain Awareness Platform

VAKE is a maritime domain awareness platform that fuses satellite imagery with AIS and other data sources to detect, track, and analyse vessel activity globally. The platform provides three core capabilities: Pathfinder for specific vessel tracking and intelligence, Overwatch for automated area monitoring, and Clearview for dark vessel identification, serving government agencies, offshore asset owners, and maritime insurers.

The service applies proprietary machine learning algorithms to multispectral satellite imagery from Sentinel-1 SAR, Sentinel-2 optical, and high-resolution providers such as Planet Labs, correlating ship detections with AIS data to reveal dark vessels, spoofing activity, and abnormal behaviour patterns. Data is consolidated from up to 15 satellite providers across optical, radiofrequency (RF), and SAR modalities. Following KSAT's acquisition of VAKE in 2024, the platform launched as "Vake Powered By KSAT" in January 2026, supporting collection-to-dissemination timelines of approximately 15 minutes with a roadmap target below five minutes by 2030. Intelligence is delivered through an interactive web interface and API, with automated reporting for area-based queries and vessel-specific track analysis.
